Dare2Dad: Leading with Faith, Strength, and Purpose

Fathers who walk in faith carry a powerful gift, the ability to unite, guide, and nurture their families in God’s love. This Father’s Day, we honor dads whose strength and faith bring healing, hope, and unity to the hearts they lead.

At FIVE18 Family Services, we see every day how a father’s presence can shape the direction of a child’s life. Not because he is perfect, but because he is present. In a world where many families face uncertainty and broken relationships, the steady influence of a father committed to growth and grounded in faith can make a lasting difference.

That’s the heart behind Dare2Dad, a fatherhood initiative designed to equip, encourage, and walk alongside dads as they lead their families with intention. It’s not about having all the answers. It’s about having the courage to take the next step, to show up, to learn, and to lead with humility and purpose.

We first met Eddy about eight months ago through our NEWDAD101 class. Referred by a local pregnancy center, Eddy was eager to learn how to be a good dad for his baby girl on the way. He came with questions, lots of them, and a desire to do things differently than what he had experienced growing up in a highly dysfunctional and violent family.

After completing NEWDAD101, Eddy continued into Dare2Dad, working through the 24:7 Dad curriculum. During those 12 weeks, his life shifted in meaningful ways. In the middle of the program, he and his wife welcomed their daughter, a moment that made everything he was learning feel even more real.

But Eddy didn’t stop there.

Moved by the relationships he built and the growth he experienced, he began to give back. He volunteered at our Father Christmas event, then stepped into a leadership role as a facilitator for the 24:7 Dad training, helping other men take the same steps he had taken.

His commitment continued to grow. Recently, Eddy became a financial donor, even using his company to match his gift, investing not only his time, but his resources into helping other fathers succeed.

These are the stories we live for. A dad-to-be, uncertain and searching, becomes a father committed to being the very best he can be for his child and his family.

Eddy’s story is powerful because it’s possible.

For many fathers, the journey doesn’t begin with a clear roadmap. Some didn’t have strong examples growing up. Others are navigating co-parenting challenges, past mistakes, or the weight of trying to provide while also being emotionally present. These realities are not barriers, they are starting points. Dare2Dad creates a space where men can be honest about those challenges and find practical tools to move forward.

Through coaching, community, and mentorship, dads learn how to build stronger relationships with their children and develop skills for long-term stability, communication, conflict resolution, and understanding their child’s needs. But beyond the practical, something deeper happens. Men begin to rediscover their identity and purpose as fathers.

Faith plays a central role in that transformation. When a father begins to see himself through the lens of God’s grace, it changes how he shows up at home. Patience grows. Grace becomes more natural. Leadership shifts from control to care. Over time, those changes create a ripple effect that impacts generations.

We’ve seen fathers take small but meaningful steps, choosing to listen instead of react, setting aside time to be present, offering encouragement where silence once lived. These moments may seem simple, but they rebuild trust, create safety, and open the door for healing.

One of the most important truths we share with dads is this: your presence matters more than your perfection. Children don’t need flawless fathers; they need faithful ones. Dads who are willing to keep showing up, even when it’s hard.

This Father’s Day, we celebrate those men, the ones who are learning, growing, and leading one day at a time. Dare2Dad is more than a program; it’s a movement toward stronger families and healthier communities.

To every dad walking this journey: you are not alone. Your role matters more than you know, and the investment you make today will echo far beyond what you can see.

This Father’s Day, we honor you.
